Things that can break the Fast

Things That Can Break the Fast, divided into 2 (two) kinds:

I. Cancel the reward of fasting, there are 6 (six):
1. Ghibah, that is mention something about a person when the person is not there, if he hears, he will feel dislike, even though the content of the conversation is true.
2. Namimah, that is spreading the news with the aim of slander.
3. Lying.
4. Seeing something that is forbidden, or seeing something lawful but with lust.
5. False oath.
6. Said vile, or committing a vile act.

"Whosoever abandons no words and evil deeds, there is no need for Allah, that man leaves his food and drink." (Narrated by Bukhari)
II. Breaking the fast, either cancel the reward or fast itself (hence obliged qadla):
1. Apostasy, ie out of Islam, with intentions in heart, words, deeds, although the act of apostasy is an instant.
2. Menstruation, childbirth, or childbirth, even for an instant during the day.
3. Crazy, though briefly.
4. Fainting and getting drunk (if it takes time during the day). As for if conscious, although briefly, according to Imam Ramli legitimate fasting. According to Ibn Hajar, canceled his fast if his hangover was deliberate, although only briefly.
5. Relate bodies, knowingly, know that the law is haram, and not forced.
If a person 'breaks' his fast in the month of Ramadan, in the daytime, by having 'perfect' (the inclusion of the male genitalia to the woman's genitals), by doing so he sins because he is fasting (ie not traveling far and mubah , And not because of an act of adultery in that journey), it is obligatory to 'receive' 5 (five) impacts:
1. He sinned
2. It is imperative not to do things that break the fast (eat, drink, etc.)
3. Compulsory in ta'zir, ie receiving punishment from judge / government, if he does not repent.
4. Obligate qadla fasting.
5. Must do kaffarah 'udzma, which is one of 3 things (in sequence, that is, it should not move to the second sequence if able to do the first sequence), that is:
A. Freeing Muslim slaves, or
B. Fasting two months in a row, or
C. Feeding 60 poor people, every poor one a mud.
Narrated from Abu Hurairah ra,

"That a man intercourse with his wife during the day of Ramadan, then he asked the fatwa to the Messenger of Allah. He said, 'Do you have a slave (to be freed)?' The man replied, 'No,' the Prophet asked, 'Are you able to fast for two months (in a row)?' The man replied, 'No.' , 'Feed 60 poor people. "(Narrated by Bukhari)
Note:
- Kaffarah is compulsory over men, not over women, because with the inclusion of male genitalia, the woman has become canceled his fast.
- Kaffarah repeats with the recurrence of the day. That is, if he did the relationship, for example, for two days, then he must pay kaffarah twice.
6. The arrival of an object (not intangible breeze or flavor) to the food and medicine (throat, stomach, brain, etc.) through the open aperture in the body.
Thus, no why, for example, there is an object entering through a hole that is not exposed, like oil that enters through the pores of the skin. According to Shafi'i School, all holes are open, except the eyes.
Some important issues in this regard:
1. Injection law may be an emergency (much needed). But scholars disagree, whether to break the fast or not.
- The first opinion says the injection can break the fast absolutely, because the object is injected into the food path.
- In the second opinion, the injection does not break the fast absolutely, because the object that is injected into the food path does not pass through the open hole in the body.
- The third opinion details; If the injected object is food, its fasting is void. If it is not food, then seen: if the injection in the vein, then cancel the fast. If not, as in muscle, then do not break the fast.
2. Ripple, the law is detailed:
- If it comes out the 'outer boundary', then swallowed, then the fasting is off.
- If the 'internal limit' only, then swallowed, then the fasting is not void.
The outer boundary is where the letter kha '(خ) comes out. The internal boundary is where the letter ha '(ح) comes out.
3. The law swallows saliva, does not break the fast, because it is very difficult to avoid, but with 3 (three) conditions:
A. Spittle water is pure, not mixed with other things or materials.
B. The saliva is holy, not as unclean as blood.
C. The saliva is inside, as in the mouth or tongue. Thus, if he swallowed the saliva already in the red lips, then the fasting was canceled.
4. Invalid water entry law when bathed, detailed:
- If the bath is disyari'atkan (ordered by the Shari'a), such as bathing mandatory / bath janabah, or bath sunnah (like bathing before Friday prayers), then the fasting is not void, with the condition of the bath by splashing water. If by way of diving in the water, then the fasting is canceled.
- If the bath is not disyari'atkan, such as bathing just to refresh the body, or to clean the body, then if there is water entering, canceled his fast, even if not intentional, either shower by splashing water or diving in the water.
5. Law if there is water accidentally swallowed when rinsing or put water into the nose. In this case the law is detailed:
A. If gargling is prescribed, for example in wudlu or large bath, then look first:
- If gargling is not very, then there is water swallowed, then fasting is not canceled.
- If gargle very, then there is water swallowed, then the fasting is canceled. Because it is too excessive in rinsing when fasting law makruh.
B. If the gargle is not included in the case of disyari'atkan, such as rinse in a bath or bath, but the fourth time (but only three times), or rinse to refresh the mouth, etc., then there is swallowed water, then the fasting is canceled, Although not very gargling.
7. Remove the semen (sperm), either with the hands, or the hands of his wife, or with the imagination, or by seeing (if with imagination and seeing that he knows that will remove sperm), or by sleeping lying with his wife. If the sperm comes out with one of the above reasons, then the fasting is off. Allah SWT says in the hadith qudsi:

يَدَع طَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ وَشَهْوَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي. متفق عليه

"He abandons his food, drink, and lust, for Me." (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
A summary of the problems in this issue is that the discharge of semen sometimes cancels and sometimes does not cancel.
I. Canceling fasting, in 2 (two) conditions:
A. By deliberately removing it, in any way.
B. If touching or in touch with his wife directly without cover / barrier of some kind of cloth or the other.
II. Does not break the fast, in 2 (two) conditions:
A. If the semen comes out without touching or touching, such as having fantasies or seeing something (unless it is imaginary and seeing that it knows if it will eject sperm, then the fasting is off).
B. If it came out for touching, but by using the cover / border.
Note:
Law kissing when fasting is haram if to arouse lust. If not to arouse lust then the law makruh. Kissing does not break the fast, unless it takes out the sperm.

"The Holy Prophet kissed and touched (his wife) while he was in a state of fasting. And he is the one who can best control his lust. "(Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
8. Vomiting intentionally.
Vomiting can break the fast, though only slightly. What is meant by vomit is the food that comes out again, after reaching the throat, although in the form of water, or food, although it has not changed taste and color. If vomiting accidentally, the fasting does not void.

"Whoever does not intentionally vomits, then he is not required mengqadha. And whoever deliberately throws up, then he must make up. "(Saheeh Abu Dawud)
If a person vomits then his mouth becomes unclean, thus he must:
- clean his mouth with water, and
- warms in rinsing until the water of the stools can clean all parts of the mouth within the outer limits (where kha out letters). In this case, if there is water swallowed by accident, the fasting is not canceled, because it eliminates najis including the case disyari'atkan (ruled by shari'at).
